Based on a pattern from Prince Armory, this female warrior breastplate is made from 7-8 oz. vegetable tanned leather and has a gloss black finish, brass plated double capped rivets, and brass plated buckles. Edges of the center plates have our "boho" stamped tooling, which gives a feminine and delicate look to the armor overall. This version also has extra articulation in the abdominal plates for additional mobility and aesthetics. It includes a war belt with custom designed removeable tassets in the same finish. This weight of leather is great for LARP, cosplay, and costuming.
This is an adult size small breastplate and belt. With the buckles almost fully cinched, it fits our dress form well at:
Bust: 33" Waist: 25" Hips: 34"
Keep in mind your sizing needs depending on what you want to wear under this. It does have a few inches of adjustment in the buckles at this size.
This piece has been lightly dyed black on the inside, and sealed inside and outside with a medium coat of Eco-Flo Satin Sheen. It's water repellent, but long term or significant exposure to moisture will likely make the dye bleed or result in spotting. In order to retain flexibility, the buckle straps are not sealed.
Leather is a natural product and each piece will have some variation in thickness, how it accepts dyes or stains, and other natural characteristics. For all finishes we usually leave marks or natural patterns for aesthetics, but we try to call out anything unusual or that may affect its use. This piece does have a thinner spot that showed up during dyeing on the right cup of the chest piece as worn, that can be seen as a small dimple in certain light. It's circled in yellow in the last picture. With the exception of buckle straps which may be laser cut, all pieces are hand cut and tooled, expect some small tool marks and scratches as a normal part of the process.
